HAIR REMOVAL:

Treatment

The Diode 810 laser hair removal converts light into energy. It travels along with the hair, down into the hair shaft causing an injury to the shaft to prevent new hair growth. Within 7-10 days, the hair will fall out. Hair grows in cycles usually about 4-6 weeks apart. Treatment must be done during the antigen phase (growth phase). Multiple sessions are required to catch hair follicles that are on a different growth cycle and spacing appointments apart is necessary to treat hair follicles during the right phase.

Pre-treatment

You cannot be tanned, use self-tanners, or be sunburnt prior to or during the course of treatment. Hair must be no longer than 1-2 mm for effective treatment. We suggest shaving 3-7 days before treatment (depending on how quickly your hair grows). Hair should be visible to the treating clinician but only slightly beyond the surface of the skin. Do not pluck, wax, tweeze, or use any hair removal technique that disrupts the hair follicle. It is important that the hair follicle remains in-tact to ensure effective treatment. Your skin must be completely clean and free of any lotions, perfumes, or makeup on the day of treatment.

Post-treatment

You can expect minor swelling and redness that can last a couple of hours. Ice can be applied if necessary. Avoid tweezing, plucking, or waxing the area between treatments. Hair will begin to fall out between days 5-10. During this time, hair may appear to be growing; the hair is making its way out of the hair shaft.

Side Effects

Infection, scarring, keloids, hyperpigmentation (darker skin), hypopigmentation (lighter skin), burns, and sub-optimal results.

TATOO REMOVAL:

Treatment

The laser light is passed over the tattooed skin, microscopically shattering the pigment into tiny particles which are more easily processed and eliminated by the body. Most patients undergo a series of 10 minute treatments. A mild to moderate irritation of the overlying skin is to be expected for a few days to a week, depending on the depth and amount of pigment to be removed.

Pre-treatment

Avoid excessive sun exposure.

Post-treatment

Wash the area with a mild soap and gently pat dry, then apply a soothing moisturizer to the skin. Avoid excessive sun exposure and tanning for one week after your treatment. Patients should consider the use of fading creams and sunscreen after the procedure. Cover-up clothing is very helpful in the healing process.

Side Effects

Temporary irritation of the skin.

SKIN TAG REMOVAL:

Treatment

The skin tag removal is performed via Electrocautery, a method that burns off the skin tag using an electric needle after applying a numbing agent to the targeted skin tags. The treatment is quick, easy, and comfortable and should not in any way impact the rest of your day.

Pre-treatment

Avoid excessive sun exposure.

Post-treatment

Apply a silicone-based scar gel to help with the healing process and use proper skin care, including consistent use of high-grade sunscreen, to achieve optimal skin results.

Side Effects

Temporary irritation of the skin.
